Welcome to the site of Blue Ribbon Results Child Care Center (CCC)! I hope that if you are reading this letter, you are considering enrolling your child or children in a dynamic, research-based private preschool. After 18 years of working in public education, it is exuberating and rejuvenating to return to my first teaching assignment and my first love, preschool education. As an educator and administrator, I believe that each child is a unique individual with special talents and abilities and should be treated as such. I consider it pure joy to share with parents, the responsibility for providing opportunities for our children to flourish in all aspects of education and in the teachings of the Word of God. I pray daily that my staff and I display the character of Jesus that your children will want to imitate. After all, your children may spend 6 to 12 hours per day with us throughout the week.

Blue Ribbon Results Child Care Center, Inc. was established to provide holistic, brain-based educational services for preschool children ages (2.5 and 5 years old). These services are designed to develop students’ spiritual, intellectual, emotional, and physical capacity so that all children will perform to their full potential.
Blue Ribbon Results was birthed out of the love and compassion for children who struggle to read, write, and solve basic math problems. All of the founder’s experiences and education led her to believe that it was not that students could not learn, but that educators have not acquired the capacity to teach students the way their brains learn. Thus, the founder trained extensively for 6 years in Brain-Based research, principles, and strategies in hope of developing an instructional program that would deliver significant results. Existing data shows that when teachers consistently use Brain-Based principles to engage students in Brain-based learning, student achievement is raised. Blue Ribbon Results Child Development Centers’ instructional program utilizes knowledge of Brain-based principles and the High Scope Preschool Curriculum to create a holistic learning experience for all students. The Bible says that “Jesus increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man.” This passage reminds us that just as Jesus grew as a total person, the boys and girls in our school have the same developmental needs. Thus, focusing on the whole-child is the practice of Blue Ribbon Results Child Care Center.
We believe that a sound early childhood education program should focus on all areas of development. No one area – social, emotional, physical, intellectual or spiritual – should be emphasized to the exclusion of any other area. To promote such growth, we strive to maintain a curriculum and daily schedule that is child-centered and use real-life experiences. We believe that teachers should serve as facilitators of learning by providing essential time for students to inquire, discover, and practice learning. When a child is engaged in problem solving, ask questions, and discovers the correct answer, they will more than likely begin to have an understanding of how they learn and transfer that understanding to new situations. This is what we call “optimal learning.”
We believe that learning is a sequential process and that children grow and develop at their own rate. When the brain is frustrated or feels threatened, little to no learning takes place. Therefore, Blue Ribbon Results believe in differentiating instruction and know that “one size does not fit all.” Instead, we lend positive reinforcement and encouragement to children’s attempts to master skills appropriate for their age level. Children learn by doing and practicing. When provided with a variety of materials appropriate for his/her level of development, a child’s brain will learn the necessary skills.
We believe that the home-school partnership is a necessity for providing the best education possible for our children. Therefore, it is the expectation of the BRRCCC that parents attend quarterly parent/teacher conferences, bring students prepared for school, make every effort to volunteer, and provide feedback to the school for continued growth. We believe that a teacher should instill in children a desire for learning, encouraging them to become independent thinkers, problem solvers, and learners.
We believe that children desire to be children; that they should be provided a fun, non-threatening, engaging, and nurturing environment for learning; and that teachers should demonstrate the fruits of the spirit: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians, 5:22-23 NIV) We believe that children have a natural curiosity and desire to learn. The staff at Blue Ribbon Results capitalizes on these characteristics, knowing that a solid foundation in the early years is essential to future success and learning.
Nurture Children and Develop Minds,
One Brain At A Time
Blue Ribbon Results’ instructional program utilizes knowledge of Brain-based principles, state assessment results, and pre/post test to create the initial Individual Student Learning Plans. Jensen (2008b) said, “Brain-based education is best understood in three words: engagement, principles, and strategies” (p. 410). Brain-based education is learning in accordance with the way the brain is biologically designed to learn. Marzano, Pickering, and Pollack (2001) identified nine brain-based strategies that improve student achievement. Blue Ribbon Results utilizes five of the nine strategies based on ranking order of effect size. The strategies include (a) similarities and differences; (b) summarizing and note taking; (c) reinforcing effort and providing recognition; (d) representing knowledge, and (e) learning groups. Marzano (2007) ranked the strategies according to effectiveness, which was determined by effect size. Effect size is how much larger or smaller an individual might expect the average score to be in a class where students use a particular strategy as compared to a class where the strategy is not used. Blue Ribbon Results uses the identified strategies which are listed according to effect size.
Highly Trained & Professional
At Blue Ribbon Results, teachers receive training in current research based learning strategies to optimize student learning. All teachers are certified in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, recognizing signs of child abuse, and safety regulations. To obtain Blue Ribbon Results, teachers are trained in how to collect and use data to assess the needs of students and to plan for instruction based on individual student needs. All staff receives over 40 hours of training each year to ensure that our children obtain Blue Ribbon Results!
